Biography
Alexandre Campeau-Lecours (Eng., Ph.D., PMP) is a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, specializing in robotics and rehabilitation engineering. He is a researcher at the Centre interdisciplinaire de recherche en réadaptation et intégration sociale (Cirris) and at the Centre de recherche en robotique, vision et intelligence machine (CeRVIM). Following his PhD, he worked for three years in industry at Kinova, where he designed intelligent algorithms for assistive robots for people with disabilities; these algorithms are now in daily use by over 800 users in more than 40 countries. His research program focuses on the development of assistive technologies for people living with disabilities, using emerging technologies (robotics, artificial intelligence) and an interdisciplinary co-creation methodology with the clinical community and potential users.
